Documentary photographer based in Paris
Alexandra Timsit is a French photographer working at the intersection of documentary and poetic observation. Her practice explores our complex relationship with the living world and its influence on imagination and the unconscious. She seeks to capture the mystery within reality, from the intimate backstage of a workshop to the shadows of a forest. Trained in stage and image at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, her approach is rooted in physical exploration and attentive listening to moments when detail speaks of vastness. Through simplicity, she leaves space to the viewer's own associations and for the unforeseen to unfold. After studying at Sciences Po Paris and spending over a decade in strategic foresight for major institutions, she shifted towards a creative path. She founded the photography studio Dubontemps in 2019 to collaborate with artisans, artists, and cultural institutions alongside her corporate work. Her photographs have been published internationally, including National Geographic, Dodho Magazine, ND Magazine, M le Magazine du Monde, Corriere della Sera, Le Parisien, Duel Magazine, Le Bonbon, and exhibited in Europe. The Art of Silence (spring 2025) is her first solo show.
